My advice to fellow students to help them succeed is ... break down seemingly impossible tasks into achievable goals. Cali Ferrari

Mathematics

When I started at SJSU, I wish I had known ... all the resources available to us on campus! There’s a lot that your tuition pays for that you might not be aware of! For me, specifically, I never really went to the Writing Center and struggled in English. I likely would have had a much easier time if I took advantage of this resource that’s free to all students! Peer Connections tutoring and mentoring is another incredibly beneficial resource that not enough students take advantage of! Make sure to educate yourself on all your resources so that you can get the most for your tuition and out of your college experience!

My advice to fellow students to help them succeed is ... go to office hours! Professors want to see you there and it’ll help you so much with the course material! I’d recommend reviewing the material some before going to office hours so that you can straighten out what you’re confused about/need help on and which questions to ask so you can get through as much material as possible in the allotted time period! Also, professors pay attention to the students that put forth that extra effort, and if you go to office hours you’ll stand out which will give you some strong references when you’re applying for jobs and internships!

What three words best describe you? Positive, energetic, friendly.

My advice to fellow students to help them succeed is ... don't let your fear of asking others questions dictate your college experience. Be ready to ask and seek others for help on class assignments or advice on life when you feel confused or alone. Whether it is your friends, professors, or tutors from Peer Connections, you won't realize how helpful, nice and supportive they are until you talk to them.
